International Workshop Grant

The purpose of the BARD workshop is to identify research needs in areas of new development.

Purpose: 

The purpose of the BARD workshop is to identify research needs in areas of new development, to define directions and opportunities regarding contemporary agricultural needs and provide information needed to address policy issues. The workshop is intended to promote increased contact between BARD scientists and other scientists throughout the world who work in academic and industrial communities in areas related to the binational agricultural interests of BARD.

Scientists affiliated with public or private non-profit research institutions in the United States and Israel are eligible to apply.

Cooperation: BARD workshops are a cooperative effort of scientists from both the United States and Israel. The proposal is to be submitted jointly, by at least one scientist from each country.

Submission date: Yearly, mid January  (2024 the submission date has been extended until February 14).

Maximum award: Varies: $20,000 to $45,000

Promote cooperative agricultural research between established scientists from the United States and hosts from Israel.
Award duration: Two to twelve months.
Maximum award: $3,000 per month plus a onetime allocation of $2,000 for travel.

Seed Grants for Workshop Participants

The objective of this program is to extend the impact of BARD supported workshops, by funding “a Seed Grant” for early-stage joint research collaboration.

Research Grants

Funds projects conducted cooperatively by US and Israeli scientists. Covers all phases of agricultural R&D including strategic or applied research. 
Award duration: 3 years 
Maximum award: $310,000 for a 3-year grant
